Professor Kishor Wasan

Professor Kishor Wasan has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of health sciences, including the Canadian Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences Leadership Award for outstanding contributions to Pharmaceutical Sciences in Canada. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. In the field of lipid-based medication delivery and lipoprotein-drug interactions, Professor Wasan has produced approximately 240 peer-reviewed publications and 280 abstracts. From August 2014 until June 2019, Professor Kishor Wasan served as Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Kishor Wasan headed the research team that created iCo 019 at the Wasan lab at the University of British Columbia, and he will first focus his efforts on the continued development of iCo 019 through partnerships and collaborations.
Until 2014, Professor Kishor Wasan held the position of associate dean of research and tenured professor at the University of British Columbia. Professor Kishor Wasan has contributed significantly to the establishment of innovative research and educational programs and has published over 520 peer-reviewed publications and journal abstracts. Through his 19 years of independent research at UBC, he has showed effectiveness at directing research programs. Wasan received a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin and a doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Kishor Wasan has worked as a pharmacist in both retail and hospital settings and continues to have a Texas pharmacist license.
